This shard porcelain pendant was fired to 2350 degrees in a salt kiln. It was once part of a larger thrown piece decorated with drawings and painted glazes. The back is a warm white.

These pieces of jewelry are all one of a kind. I choose artistically interesting sections of larger porcelain shards, then grind them with diamond embedded grinding wheels to the shapes I want. I smooth and bevel the edges till they feel silky like beach glass.
Re-framing these designs in interesting shapes is a fresh way to see my drawings. I'm loving these new pieces and hope you do as well.
Salt firing lends many surprises from the atmospheric glaze flowing throughout the kiln on the flame. My designs are enhanced by that glaze and feel great to touch. They are sturdy and comfy to wear. Avoid dropping them on tile floor but beyond that type of impact they are really durable.
